Not much to take pictures of lately, so I went to my backyard...


...and found this. It's far from fine art, but it's interesting to me. Sure looks a lot more interesting in the photo than it did on the ground.

I guess it's encouraging. I don't have to live in Scotland to take interesting photos. (Check it out. The whole site is worthwhile.) I'm sure some better terrain would help though. Not very many castles in Kansas.

Daily tip: Dial your f-stop down to increase you DOF on that, since you are useing the 50 backards, you can pinky hold the stop open for focusing

Actually, that wasn't reversed. I had the reversing ring on the lens, because I had been doing that earlier, but during that picture it was mounted normally. It was wide open at 1.8 though, which at the distance I was at still gives very narrow DOF. I'll have to call you about the "pinky hold". Sounds exotic.
